To earn the Ceramics and Clay badge,
Girl Scouts requires six essential tasks.
Clay Monet can help your troop with all of them.
Wheel Throwing 101
· Introduction to our studio - Covers:
Handle With Care
Fuel And Fire
Dream Decorator
· Make It With Clay: 45 minutes instruction on the wheel
Each scout will produce a small pot and gain an understanding of how the wheel works.
· Worksheet
· Grin And Glaze It
Return two weeks later to glaze (paint) your masterpeice! Finished and fired pieces will be ready for pickup in one week from painting date. Your troop can return to paint as a group or on an individual basis.
Paint-A-Tile
· Time For Tiles
Each scout will glaze (paint) a 4" bisque tile using stamps, stencils and scaffito (using two overlapping colors and then scratching through the layers).
Combo Deal
· Bring your troop in to do both wheel throwing and paint a tile. By doing both sections you accomplish all requirements for the Ceramics and Clay Badge.
